Child Life Certification Exam Preparation

This 6 week online course taught by 2 certified child life specialists will prepare participants for taking the child life certification exam. Through assignments, weekly chats, and forum discussions participants will review content in the three areas of Assessment, Intervention, and Professional Responsibility, create study tools, develop test taking strategies, as well as learn effective anxiety reducing techniques.

Child Life Certification Exam Preparation

This 6 week online course taught by 2 certified child life specialists will prepare participants for taking the child life certification exam. This on-demand webinar will discuss the role of the Child Life Specialist working in the community with children and family affected by a variety of adverse childhood experiences. Participants will learn how to use the philosophical tenets of child life: developmental explanations, child centered play, coping strategies, expressive arts, and preparation as tools for supporting children and families in community agencies like homeless shelters, foster care and adoption as well as specific populations like those affected by disasters or having an incarcerated loved one.


Once the participant has completed the webinar and passed the quiz a verification letter of completion will be emailed to you.

This on-demand webinar will discuss the role of the Child Life Specialist when a child and family is admitted to the hospital that has also experienced additional traumas. Examining assessment, scope of practice, and interventions participants will learn about adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), their relevance to child life practice, use of assessment to better support families with multiple ACEs, and learn responses reactions and potential child life interventions.

This asynchronous webinar demonstrates the use of analogies as a tool in preparation. Child Life Specialists will learn to develop and incorporate analogies in order to create meaningful interventions that scaffold the child's learning thus increasing his ability to cope.
